What Causes Cellulite?
Cellulite is mainly caused because of a genetic condition which causes fluid retention, an inefficient lymphatic drainage system and weak veins that result in ineffective blood circulation. Hormonal imbalances can also cause the development of more fat cells. These factors result in the fat cells lying under the skin converting into cellulite. This cellulite pushes up the fascia connecting the skin to the underlying muscle and creates the ungainly appearance of the dimpled look on the skin that is a sign of cellulite.
Cupping helps reduce cellulite in 3 important ways
- It helps stretch and relax the hardened connective tissue beneath the skin, increasing elasticity and helping reduce the dimpled appearance of cellulite.
- It promotes healthy circulation of nutrient-rich blood, rejuvenating the skin and underlying tissues.
- It stimulates the flow of lymph, part of your body’s natural detoxification system. This helps dissipate fluid retention that emphasizes the appearance of cellulite.
Other Advantages of Cupping
While conventional weight loss methods do not work on specifically targeted areas of the body, cupping is known to help in spot reduction as well. You can request treatments to remove sagging buttocks, flabby inner thighs and any other love handles. Done regularly, the improved circulation removes the “orange peel” cellulite texture, leaving the fibrous tissue soft, healthy and flexible and keeps your skin looking more youthful. Cups are simply applied on the areas of the body that need treatment.
For best results, we like to use a combination of cupping and essential oils for cellulite treatment. As with any therapeutic treatment, results can vary from person to person. The recommended initial course of treatment with cellulite cupping consists of between 6 and 12 sessions. The results are cumulative, especially if treatments are performed 1-2 times per week. We recommend monthly follow-up sessions to maintain the original results.
